Goetz, Earl H. Goetz Fund In Honor of Major McGowan
This fund awards scholarships to deserving college/university students from Richland County, Ohio. Major McGowan was an executive at the Salvation Army, Mansfield, Ohio,. He was a member of the Rotary Club. He was always interested in, among other things, meaningful programs and projects undertaken by the Salvation Army, Mansfield Branch. He was also concerned about the youth in the Mansfield/Richland County area. His interest therein resulted in the creation of the Major McGowan Rotary Club Award for deserving youth who demonstrated a record of courage. The framework thereof has been established by the Rotary Club. The interest assigned to the Major McGowan Fund, was understood by Earl Goetz, would be used in the sole and absolute direction of the Foundation in the support of the Major McGowan Youth Fund.
