January 11, 2022The Richland County Foundation announces its college and career technical education scholarship applications for the 2022-2023 school year are now available online at richlandcountyfoundation.org.
The Foundation has 89 scholarship funds. Last year the scholarships ranged from $250 to $6,000 with 266 awarded totaling $531,300.
New applicants and high school seniors must have at least a 2.5 grade point average (GPA), returning applicants must have at least a 2.0 GPA, attend an accredited school and be a resident or high school graduate of Richland County. The deadline for college scholarship applications is April 1.
The Foundation also awards career technical education scholarships to individuals who want to obtain certifications and credentials at accredited technical institutions. There is a rolling deadline for CTE scholarships to meet various enrollment requirements. In aligning with Ohio’s Attainment Goal, the Foundation wants to help fill the gap between job openings and certified employees as well as lead the way to support workforce development through CTE scholarships.
Scholarship awards are based on financial need. These are not recurring scholarships so students must re-apply each year.
Other scholarships offered include the Steve Shoenfelt Memorial Scholarship for area high school swimmers and the Mansfield Aviation Club learn how to fly scholarship.
