The Foundation is a #PokemonGO landmark!
By Maura Teynor
July 12, 2016Our new Administrative Assistant Stacie Shoemaker came in this morning and announced the Richland County Foundation is a landmark for the new gaming app Pokemon Go.
We are a small staff, most of us had heard of Pokemon but did not really understand this new app. So Stacie gave us a 101 tutorial: it is an app that uses augmented reality and encourages players to go out into the real world to capture Pokemon and conduct battles at various landmarks.
I had to see what she was talking about so I downloaded the app. Wow, there we are, and the Foundation is a “Historic Mansfield Tower House” on Pokemon Go!
So what does that mean?
Stacie said people will come here and do battle.
Really?
I looked out the window to the parking lot. The only thing out there were our cars. No battles going on today. Apparently, we have not been discovered yet by the Pokemon Go gaming world.
So I am here to tell you, we are a landmark.
If while doing battle you need a break and want to learn more about the Foundation, get out of the app and go to richlandcountyfoundation.org
Warning: Remember to be alert at all times. Stay aware of your surroundings.
